About Strathspey in May
"A tremendous weekend of music - an absolute wealth of talent "
May 2008
Looking forward to Grantown's eighth Strathspey in May, which exists to foster interest and participation in traditional music, song and dance.
The Old Blind Dogs are our headline band this year and this brings Fraser Stone, their dummer, back to his home town for the first time in a number of years. In addition we are continuing with a successful pattern of local community involvement. Grantown Primary School are hosting a Carnival sound with the Soundstart Plus community band, Grantown Community Council will host a visit from the Celtic Malts vintage and veteran car rally and Grantown Museum is hosting a story telling session and a celebration of accordions. A talent show will draw out the best of local entertaining talent, but it is open to anyone who wants to participate from further afield.
